The value of scrap gold
Recently we hear a lot about the scrap gold and how it is a great way of earning money but what is it's actual value? In other words if you want to get cash for gold you own, how much will you get? Prices for scrap gold differ depending on the number of carats. Carats (or karats) is a system that identifies how many pure gold is in a given jewelry. The more carats an item has, the bigger is it's value. For example a 10ct(carat) gold item might be worth around 9 pounds while the 20ct around 18 pounds. How to check how many carats our gold has? This information is usually delivered along with the jewelry but as you are trying to sell your old gold I assume you don't have it. In this case I suggest going to a goldsmith. He or she would be able to establish the number of carats at sight.
